Chiropractic Care/Diversified Manipulation

A combination of the most effective techniques of joint manipulation, Diversified technique involves the use of a comfortable and safe, low amplitude thrust to adjust the spine and extremities. Correction of joint dysfunction has been shown to increase joint range of motion and decrease pain.

Flexion Distraction

Flexion Distraction decompresses the disc by applying a gentle stretch or traction to the lower spine. The provider applies manual contact to the spine while the Leander table assists with concurrent trunk flexion. This traction/mobilization is performed in a series of repetitive slow movements without quick movements or thrusts. The procedure is often used for people with disc problems, but can be used in other ways to gently mobilize joints.

Exercise and Rehabilitation Programs

Rehabilitation is the process to regain full function following injury and involves restoring strength, flexibility, endurance, and power. It is achieved through various exercises, stretches, and drills. Rehabilitation is as important as treatment following an injury but unfortunately is often overlooked. The goal of a rehabilitation program is to return the patient to what they love to do. A full rehabilitation and strengthening program is also essential to ensure full recovery and in order to prevent re-injury.

Instrument Assisted Tissue Mobilization

IASTM is an innovative form of soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to detect and release soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Myofascial Release

This therapy is based on scientific evidence that following an injury, connective tissue develops adhesions (scar tissue). These adhesions cause the motion of muscles or joints to be altered, resulting in a wide variety of symptoms including pain and reduced mobility. Treatments consist of applying specific manual pressure over scar tissue while the patient moves. This results in release of chronic myofascial adhesions.

Home Exercise Program

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and stabilize their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal rehabilitation. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be fatigued or weakened by improper posture and overuse. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
